Tends band-seating machnie that roughens grooves (band seats)
of artillery shells so that brass or copper bands affixed by
Banding-Machine Operator (ordnance) will secure shell and rotate
it when fired: Positions shell in chuck of lathe and tightens
chuck, using wrench.
Moves machine controls to start shell
rotating and engage feed of knruling tool.
Presses and releases
pedal when band seat is sufficiently scored and reomves
processed shell from chuck.
